ORE revision book study guide

Our ore revision book guide explains what overseas dentists need: if you qualified abroad and need a single organised guide to UK-style Part 1 content, this book provides chapter-by-chapter summaries across applied and clinical sciences. It suits self-study candidates and those supplementing tutor-led sessions.

The book works best as part of a system: read a chapter, answer matching questions from the bank, review mistakes, then move on. Candidates who only read without testing often feel prepared until mock papers reveal gaps.

This ORE revision book guide explains what overseas dentists need for UK registration through the ORE route. Use our ORE revision book resources alongside official GDC guidance and Enamel Academy shop products for structured preparation. See also: ORE question bank, ORE Part 1 course.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the ORE exam for?

The ORE is for overseas dental graduates whose primary qualification is not recognised for direct GDC registration and who must demonstrate competence to practise dentistry in the UK.

How long should I prepare for ORE Part 1?

Most candidates need three to six months combining syllabus review, daily SBA/EMQ practice and at least one full mock exam cycle before sitting Part 1.

Is the revision book enough on its own?

It builds knowledge efficiently, but exam success also requires question practice and timed mocks. Most candidates pair the book with the question bank or bundle.

Does it cover LDS Part 1 as well as ORE?

Yes — content is structured for both ORE and LDS Part 1 where syllabus themes overlap.

How should I schedule reading across months?

Aim to complete one to two chapters per week over two to three months, with daily questions alongside. Adjust pace based on your baseline from free practice questions.
