The test uses Cloudflare’s global CDN for download and upload — the same approach as Fast.com and Speedchecker. That measures your real broadband capacity, not server limits on a single website.
Results show ping (latency), download and upload in Mbps. A stable connection helps when you stream live ORE or LDS courses, download revision materials or join video tutor sessions.
Run the test on the same network you use for study. VPNs and mobile hotspots often reduce download and upload scores.

How accurate is this internet speed test?
Download and upload use Cloudflare’s global CDN — the same type of infrastructure behind Fast.com and many major speed checkers. That gives a realistic measure of your broadband capacity. Ping is HTTP latency to the nearest CDN edge, which is slightly higher than ICMP ping but still useful for video calls and live courses.
Why might results differ from Fast.com?
Both tests use CDN-based measurement, so results should be similar. Small differences are normal — timing, parallel connections, Wi‑Fi vs Ethernet, VPN use, and background downloads all affect the score.
What is a good download speed for online courses?
For HD video calls and course streaming, 25 Mbps or higher is comfortable. For 4K or large downloads, 50 Mbps+ is better.
Does this test work on mobile?
Yes. Run it on the same network you use for study. Mobile data and home Wi‑Fi will give different results.
