What an ORE Part 2 course covers

Our ore part 2 course guide explains what overseas dentists need: after passing Part 1, candidates face Part 2 — a multi-component clinical examination that tests how you apply knowledge in UK-style scenarios. Components typically include diagnostic and treatment planning (DTP), objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) stations, operative tasks, medical emergency management and professional communication.

Enamel Academy offers books, digital resources, tutor-led intensives and comprehensive bundles with WhatsApp support — each mapped to a specific Part 2 component. Most candidates secure Part 1 first, then build a Part 2 plan around their exam date.

This ORE Part 2 course guide explains what overseas dentists need for UK registration through the ORE route. Use our ORE Part 2 course resources alongside official GDC guidance and Enamel Academy shop products for structured preparation. See also: ORE Part 1 course, ORE exam guide.

Pass Part 1 first

Most candidates secure ORE Part 1 before structured Part 2 preparation.

Self-Study Resources vs Tutor-Led Courses

We recommend starting with Part 2 books and resource bundles from our shop. Tutor-led courses and intensives are optional add-ons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the ORE exam for?

The ORE is for overseas dental graduates whose primary qualification is not recognised for direct GDC registration and who must demonstrate competence to practise dentistry in the UK.

How long should I prepare for ORE Part 1?

Most candidates need three to six months combining syllabus review, daily SBA/EMQ practice and at least one full mock exam cycle before sitting Part 1.

Should I start Part 2 preparation before passing Part 1?

Focus on Part 1 first. Some candidates skim Part 2 resources early for motivation, but structured Part 2 prep is most effective once Part 1 is secured and you have an exam timeline.

Which Part 2 product should I start with?

Many candidates begin with the Complete Part 2 Bundle for breadth, or target a weak area first — DTP book, OSCE book or a Study-Buddy intensive session. The interactive course suits those wanting guided training across components.

What is WhatsApp support on Part 2 bundles?

Selected Part 2 products include tutor access via WhatsApp for questions on materials and exam approach. Check each product page for exactly what is included.
